- 8 oz penne or fettuccine pasta

- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish

- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add onion, garlic, and red bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté 3–4 minutes until tender.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir in Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a gentle simmer and cook 3–4 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
- Return sausage to the skillet and add cooked pasta. Toss to coat evenly.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until creamy. Adjust seasoning and add red pepper flakes if desired.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Use spicy or mild sausage depending on preference. Add spinach or zucchini for extra vegetables. Substitute half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
