This Creamy Tomato Garlic Pasta is a quick and delicious weeknight meal. Rich tomato sauce with roasted garlic and a creamy finish comes together in just 20 minutes for a comforting dinner everyone will love.

  • 12 oz pasta (penne, spaghetti, or fettuccine)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and Italian seasoning. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream. Cook 1–2 minutes until creamy.
  5. Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese and adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil or parsley and extra Parmesan.

Notes

You can add cooked chicken, shrimp, or sautéed vegetables to make this a complete meal. For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
