- Sprinkle French onion soup mix evenly over the roast.
- Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and thyme.
- If using, add sliced onions around the roast.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8–9 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours, until beef is fork-tender.
- Optional: For thicker gravy, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the crockpot during the last 30 minutes.
- Serve warm with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Notes
For deeper flavor, sear the roast before adding it to the slow cooker. Leftovers are excellent for sandwiches or served open-faced with extra gravy.
