- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 2 cups beef broth

- Optional for serving: mashed potatoes and thick sliced bread

- Place beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together onion soup mix, brown gravy mix, beef broth, garlic powder, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce if using.
- Pour gravy mixture over the beef.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours until beef is very tender.
- Shred or slice beef and return it to the gravy.
- Serve beef and gravy over bread and mashed potatoes for a classic Beef Manhattan.
Notes
Chuck roast works best for tenderness, but bottom round can also be used. This dish tastes even better the next day and is perfect for feeding a crowd.
