- 4 cups potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp butter, diced
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 190°C / 375°F and grease a baking dish.
- Cook beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Drain grease.
- Prepare sauce: In a bowl whisk cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth.
- Layer: Add a layer of sliced potatoes to the dish, then onion, then cooked beef.
- Pour some sauce over the layer and repeat layers until ingredients are used.
- Dot butter pieces on top and cover with foil.
- Bake 45 minutes, remove foil, add cheese, and bake another 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
- Rest 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
Slice potatoes thin for even cooking. Substitute ground turkey for a lighter version. Add frozen vegetables for extra nutrition.
