Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: a pinch of salt

Instructions

Instructions

  1. Place strawberries and 1/4 cup sugar in a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together remaining sugar, heavy cream, milk, vanilla extract, and salt (if using) until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Stir in strawberry puree until well combined.
  4. Pour mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 20–25 minutes) until thickened.
  5. Transfer to an airtight container and freeze at least 2–4 hours, or until firm.
  6. Serve scoops of strawberry ice cream on cones or in bowls, optionally topped with fresh strawberries or chocolate drizzle.

Notes

For a chunkier ice cream, reserve some chopped strawberries and fold them in after churning. Can be stored in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
