  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rotini works best)
  • 1 lb kielbasa sausage, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add sliced kielbasa and cook until lightly browned, about 3–4 minutes.
  2. Add onion and garlic and sauté 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add pasta, chicken broth, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 12–15 minutes until pasta is tender and most liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and shredded cheese until creamy and well combined. Cook 2–3 more minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream. You can add vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or peas for extra flavor and nutrition.
