- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup uncooked white rice
- 1 1/2 cups beef or chicken broth
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper

- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain excess grease.
- Add chopped cabbage to the slow cooker.
- Top with cooked beef mixture, uncooked rice, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, broth, and seasonings.
- Stir gently to combine.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours, until cabbage is tender and rice is cooked.
- Stir before serving and adjust seasoning if needed.
Notes
For extra richness, stir in a tablespoon of butter before serving. This dish stores well and tastes even better the next day.
