  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)
  • 12 cups royal icing or glaze
  • Edible flowers or sprinkles for decoration

  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
  5. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters.
  6. Place cookies on baking sheets and bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely.
  7. Decorate with royal icing and edible flowers once cooled.

Notes

For best results, chill dough 30 minutes before rolling. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
