  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: whipped cream for serving

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, salt, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened and clear.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Arrange sliced strawberries in the pre-baked pie crust.
  4. Pour the cooked glaze over the strawberries, making sure to cover evenly.
  5. Chill the pie in the refrigerator for at least 2–3 hours until set.
  6. Serve chilled, optionally topped with whipped cream.

Notes

Use the freshest strawberries available for the best flavor. You can also mix in a few raspberries or blueberries for color variation. To make a double-crust version, cover with a lattice crust and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–35 minutes.
