Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp dried chamomile flowers (food-grade), finely crushed
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Optional Chamomile Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp brewed chamomile tea, cooled
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: Beat butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add flavorings: Mix in vanilla extract and crushed chamomile flowers.
  4. Add dry ingredients: Gradually mix in flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
  5. Shape cookies: Roll dough into 1-inch balls or shape into discs and place on prepared baking sheets.
  6. Flatten slightly: Gently press each cookie with the bottom of a glass.
  7. Bake: Bake for 12–14 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Optional glaze: Whisk glaze ingredients together and drizzle over cooled cookies.
  10. Serve: Allow glaze to set before serving.

Notes

Use only culinary-grade chamomile flowers intended for food use. For a stronger chamomile flavor, steep the flowers in melted butter for 15 minutes before making the dough. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
