For the Dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

For the Cheese Filling

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

For the Garlic Butter Topping

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. Add flour, salt, egg, and melted butter, then knead until smooth and elastic.
  2. Let the dough rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1 1/2 hours until doubled in size.
  3. Shape the rolls: Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread the shredded cheeses evenly over the surface, then roll tightly into a log. Cut into individual rolls.
  4. Bake: Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  5. Add garlic butter: Mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, and salt. Brush over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add Italian herbs, red pepper flakes, or cream cheese to the filling. These rolls are best served warm but can be reheated in the oven for a soft, fresh texture.
